Definition 4.1 Sampling is the process of obtaining a sample.

Sampling begins with the sampling plan, an assessment that takes into account the measures to be evaluated and the available resources. In the same way that laboratories take blood samples for health tests, cooks taste some of the food to taste the seasonings and factories carry out destructive tests on part of their production to assess the quality of what is being produced. A brief review of the main concepts of sampling based on (Bolfarine and Bussab 2005) will be made. For a classic approach it is recommended (Cochran 1977).
